Like many other places in the world, human population growth in Montana has continually pushed agriculture farther and farther away from city centers. This is happening right here in Lolo. Several of Dunrovin’s neighbors now have unused small pastures that were once part of cattle-raising operations.
Three of our neighbors (see map below) want to keep an open space atmosphere around their homes and maintain green fields without having to bother with all the work associated with livestock. They all admire the beauty of horses and love seeing them from their front windows. Hence, they have invited Dunrovin to send our horses to their pastures.
This presents a win-win-win situation for them, for us, and for our horses. While each of our individual arrangements is unique (some involving work by our staff), the end result is that every night, our herd enjoys fresh green grass, our riding staff has the fun of driving the herd to and from the pastures, our D@D viewers get to see the herd running to and from, and the neighbors get their pastures mowed. In this video, you will see the herd going to and from Mark’s pasture.
